Bluebell Shoots

Bluebell season is a very special time of year and these photo shoots take place in the most stunning and private bluebell wood in the heart of Chalfont St. Peter.

The bluebells bloom towards the end of April and first few weeks of May and are always super popular and make amazing pieces of art to add to your walls.

Don’t miss the opportunity to book your bluebell shoot this year!

Shooting bluebells should ideally be shot early in the morning or later in the evening when the sun is lower.

It can be quite wet underfoot, so wellies or boots can be a good option or even bare feet.

Photographing in April, in England. Yes it can rain a lot! Even if the children wear wellies and raincoats the images are still just as stunning.

Bluebells are a protected species, please pay attention to where you walk and make sure your children don’t pick the bluebells. This way we can protect the bluebells for future generations

Frequently Asked Questions

What should we wear to the bluebell shoot?2022-01-31T16:58:52+00:00

Clothing choice is very important when shooting in the bluebells. Neutral tones such as creams, greys, browns, light pink and different shades of blue look good. The colour yellow/ochre also works really well and gives a nice contrasting pop. The rule of thumb is choose three magic colours, if all of the party can wear one or two out of the three colours this helps to make everyone look coordinated and easy on the eye.

A nice chunky jumper and a denim jacket also looks good. For girls, long swishy dresses or tutus are great, it’s often colder than expected during the bluebell season so take plenty of warm clothes. You can add a little wool cardigan or faux fur gilets to add layers and textures.

Be sure to dress younger children warm enough otherwise they will not cooperate, especially if it’s damp too! Comfort is key – choose comfortable items in soft fabrics, things you don’t have to fuss with to get the perfect look

Try to avoid white and black if at all possible and also very patterned tops or logos as they can distract from the subject

What should we bring to the bluebell shoot?2022-01-31T16:59:40+00:00

Accessories can be a great way to add some colour to a picture , such as a scarf, tie or hat. Feel free to bring along anything personal – i.e a favourite teddy, toy or book.

What if it rains?2022-01-31T17:00:13+00:00

If it pours with rain, I try to reschedule and shift sessions around and of course I will give you a full refund if we end up having to cancel.

Can I bring my dog?2022-01-31T17:00:43+00:00

Very welcome to bring your dog, if it is well behaved and doesn’t trample all over the bluebells.

What if I need to cancel?2022-01-31T17:01:12+00:00

I require 24 hours notice for any cancellation, I will of course reschedule your session to another day convenient to us both.

How long will the session last?2024-03-05T08:26:57+00:00

I book in half an hour for your session. The bluebell shoots are very popular and I often have shoots booked in back to back. Please don’t be late as this will impact your session. Make sure you arrive early.

Where is the location of the private bluebell wood?2022-01-31T17:03:00+00:00

The Old Cherry Orchard Welders Lane Chalfont St Peter SL9 8TU
Please note: The postcode will NOT bring you directly to the woodland.

Welders Lane is a very thin country lane with passing places. The entrance to the woodland is at the Chalfont St Peter end of Welders Lane, approx. 100m from the junction with Narcot Lane/Grove Lane, the name is on the wooden gates.

It is directly opposite a thatched house called THATCHES, which is the only thatched house on the road. You can turn into the gates and park in the field.

THIS IS A PRIVATE PROPERTY AND CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED AT YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME.

How long after the session before we can see the online gallery?2022-01-31T17:04:14+00:00

Your final gallery of approximately 50-60 beautiful images will be ready to view between two and three weeks after your session. I will email you the login details to your own password protected online gallery which you can view through the website. You will then have 14 days to select your photos and choose your package.

Are there any hidden costs or hard sell?2022-01-31T17:05:23+00:00

I have thought long and hard about what sort of service I would like to receive if I were you – the customer. I would definitely like the opportunity to choose my package or products in the comfort of my own home. In our current busy lives , we all seem to have less time than ever – so I just send you a link by email to select your pictures within 14 days. There is no returning for a viewing, no hard sell and absolutely no pressure. I personally would hate a pushy sales appointment. I have tried really hard to display lots of amazing wall art products on the website to help you chose the perfect size and the right products for your wall.
