1 Year Portrait Session

At 12 months old your child will be getting ready to take their first steps, or they might already be walking. In the blink of an eye that first year has whizzed by so quickly and what better way than to document this incredible milestone.

They don’t stay like this for long!

I aim to do 4 or 5 different set ups and changes of outfits so you end up with a huge variety of images in your final gallery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should we wear for a family shot?2019-06-16T07:35:16+01:00

My advice on clothing is to keep it simple, definitely a good idea to stay away from wide, brightly coloured stripes or tops with large logos on them. A good way of linking everyone is to choose 3 or 4 “magic” colours and each wear one, two or three out of the four colours this helps to make everyone look co-ordinated and easy on the eye. Maybe one family member can wear a patterned top or dress then pick out colours from that pattern for everyone else. Comfort is key – choose comfortable items in soft fabrics, things you don’t have to fuss with to get the perfect look. Make sure clothes are not too big and bulky. Accessories too can be a great way to add some colour to a picture, such as a scarf, tie or hat. If you are venturing outdoors, bear in mind the time of year. For Autumn, I recommend earthy tones such as orange, ochre, mustard, sage green and burgundy. For Winter, classic red and green holiday colours look perfect. This is the time of year for the furry scarves and the cable knit sweaters. For Spring/Summer, I suggest pretty pastel colours – light blue, tan, white, blush and even yellow. Floral patterns look great and textures such as denim and lace work well in the summertime. Ultimately you will want some of these images to end up on your walls in your home, so it is definitely worth considering your home décor too. For inspiration – please click here.

What do I need to bring to the photoshoot?2019-07-21T12:08:02+01:00

Please bring along any outfits you love for your baby, nothing that is too big and baggy though. I also have a good selection of clothes and accessories here at the studio too for you to use including tutus for little girls. Always a good idea to bring your child’s favourite toy and book. Don’t forget a drink, some snacks and plenty of wipes.

Can you come to my house for the photoshoot?2019-04-30T20:27:33+01:00

All of my indoor shoots take place in my studio here in Gerrards Cross, South Buckinghamshire. In exceptional circumstances I can travel to a clients house.

Where will the photoshoot be?2019-04-30T20:27:59+01:00

You can choose to have the photo shoot at my studio in Gerrards Cross, SL9 which includes use of all props, the rubber duckies and the bath tub or choose an outdoor location within 10 miles of my studio. I have some great local outdoor venues I can recommend.

What if I have booked an outdoor shoot and it rains?2019-05-05T17:43:32+01:00

If the weather is unsuitable  on the day of the shoot then we can reschedule at no extra cost or switch to an indoor shoot. Living in the UK, I am used to photographing in the rain, sometimes welly boots and a bright umbrella make the best photos.

Can I bring my dog?2019-05-05T17:56:03+01:00

Always welcome to bring the family dog to an outdoor photoshoot. However only very well behaved dogs can be photographed in the studio.

Can we bring siblings to the photoshoot?2019-05-05T17:55:44+01:00

How long after the session before we can see the online gallery?2019-05-05T17:54:18+01:00

Your final gallery of approximately 50-60 beautiful images will be ready to view between two and three weeks after your session. I will email you the login details to your own password protected online gallery which you can view through the website. You will then have 14 days to select your photos and choose your package.

Can we purchase wall art after the shoot?2024-03-05T08:43:34+00:00

I use one of the best award-winning labs in the country for all my wall art. Fantastic quality pieces of art that really do last a lifetime. Please click here to view Wall Art options. Contact me for pricing.

Are there any hidden costs or hard sell?2019-06-02T15:46:10+01:00

I have thought long and hard about what sort of service I would like to receive if I were you – the customer. I would definitely like the opportunity to choose my package or products in the comfort of my own home. In our current busy lives , we all seem to have less time than ever – so I just send you a link by email to select your pictures within 14 days. There is no returning for a viewing, no hard sell and absolutely no pressure. I personally would hate a pushy sales appointment. I have tried really hard to display lots of amazing wall art products on the website to help you chose the perfect size and the right products for your wall.
